Bundesliga: These Stars Will Get You Off Your Seat!

We’re ten games into the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign and already the league is starting to take shape, with Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich leading the pack, and Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund leading the chase.

There’s still a long way to go and hopefully twists and turns to come but, with the November international break upon us, let’s take a look at the SBOTOP pick of the goal-getters and playmakers who are shaping their club’s campaign. These are the men who can take the roof off a stadium with a dramatic strike or those who can bring the fans to their feet with an electrifying run or a defence splitting pass…and there’s only one place we can start.

The goal-getters

The incredible Harry Kane has already scored 13 league goals for Bayern Munich this season, once again proving that he is the most complete number nine in world football. For so long a loyal servant of Tottenham Hotpsur, Kane moved to Munich to win trophies and last season he broke his duck as Die Bayern won the Bundesliga. At 32 years of age the England man has lost none of his hunger and he looks set to carry on breaking individual records as well as picking up winners medals. A poacher, a brilliant header of the ball, a clinical finisher with an eye for the spectacular, Kane has it all and he looks set to fire the Bavarians to another title.

Bayern Munich have eased into a six points lead at the top of the table and the Bundesliga 2025 betting odds are squarely behind Kane and his mates. But who else has been net-busting so far?

Jonathan Burkhardt’s switch from FSV Mainz to Eintracht Frankfurt was one of the biggest Bundesliga 2025 news stories (outside Munich) as he was the man charged with getting the goals for the Eagles after the high profile departures of Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike, to Manchester City and Liverpool. Frankfurt have had a knack for unearthing gifted goal-scorers and, in Burkhardt they have a ready made striker who has bagged six goals already and is on target to outscore his predecessors. He scored 41 goals in 136 games for Mainz and the 25 year old has picked up five caps for Germany. His goals will be crucial if Frankfurt are to break into the top four again.

Christoph Baumgartner has already scored five goals in the Bundesliga
Christoph Baumgartner is currently in sixth place on the top scorers’ table

Christoph Baumgartner can make a case for being in our list of goal-getters or playmakers. The Red Bull Leipzig man has five goals already this season but, as an attacking midfielder he has so much more to his game. A strong runner with superb close ball control and the vision to create openings, the 26 year old is a key player for his country Austria, scoring 19 times in 54 games. He’s adding goals to his game for Leipzig too and the second placed team hold him in high esteem.

The playmakers

Another of Bayern Munich’s recent recruits, Michael Olise, had an impressive opening season last term and, with three assists and four goals already he is one of the Bavarians’ most creative players this season. He loves to take a pot shot, having 37 shots this season, more even than Kane; but Olise’s energy and speed, as well as superb delivery, give the main man the space and opportunity to rack up his goal tally.

Red Bull Leipzig’s Ridle Baku is another player with electric pace, and he has made more intensive runs, at 876, than anyone else in the German top flight. The 27 year old transferred from Vfl Wolfsburg last winter and he’s become a vital player for Leipzig, capable of playing as a right back, a right winger or even through the midfield. Every team needs a utility man but, in Baku, Red Bull have one with wings and he can certainly get the crowd going when he sets off on a run.

Bayer Leverkusen’s defensive midfielder Aleix Garcia is a player you want to see on the ball, which he uses with finesse, care and vision. The former Manchester City academy star has a pass completion rate of 94 per cent, one of the three highest in the league, and he will be a key player for Leverkusen as they work to recover from a poor start to the campaign.

Die Werkself have been improving in recent weeks and Garcia made an assist as they hammered FC Heidenheim 6-0 at the weekend. The 28 year old is a quarterback who can dictate the pace of play, always available to take the ball and he’ll use it to launch an attack with precision.
