Everton vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are not the only undefeated team left in the Premier League, but they’re also one of the hottest teams in Europe right now. Oliver Glasner’s Eagles recently extended their unbeaten run to 18 games, which is the highest among Europe’s Top 5 leagues and twice as many as the team in second (Barcelona with nine).
This time last year, Crystal Palace hit rock bottom because they couldn’t buy a win. And now, they’re in third place in the English top-flight standings with 12 points, putting them within arm’s reach of Liverpool, whom they’ve beaten last weekend.
They will visit Everton on Sunday at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, looking to tack on more points. Everton are ninth in the Premier League table with eight points and are winless in their last four matches across all competitions.
Talking Points
Everton lose key playmaker to suspension
Save for their 1-0 loss to Leeds United on opening day, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has incurred a yellow card in five consecutive Premier League matches. Because of this, he’ll have to serve his one-match ban against Crystal Palace, which is a huge blow to their midfield.
Dewsbury-Hall’s first three bookings were for fouls against Brighton, Wolves, and Aston Villa, but many Toffees fans believe that the next two were a joke. The former Chelsea man was booked against Liverpool for dissent for taking a quick free-kick when the advantage should have been for them in the first place because they were fouled. His fifth yellow card was debatable because it was a clean tackle on West Ham United’s Kyle Walker-Peters in stoppage time.
With Dewsbury-Hall out, Charly Alcaraz could take his place in the starting XI, which he did against Mansfield Town and Wolves in the EFL Cup. Meanwhile, Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye, and Beto should take more attacking responsibility, with Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling likely coming off the bench.
Grealish has cooled off for a bit after dishing four assists and creating numerous Premier League 2025 highlights in his first three league games, so look for him to try to reassert himself against the Eagles.
Nketiah becoming Crystal Palace’s surprise package

Crystal Palace managed to beat Liverpool in dramatic fashion. Ismaila Sarr put the Eagles up by one goal, and the hosts were in the driver’s seat for the most part. However, the Reds unsettled the Selhurst Park faithful when Federico Chiesa scored the equaliser in the 87th minute.
During a late throw-in sequence, Eddie Nketiah was at the right place at the right time. Will Hughes and Marc Guehi tried to head the ball into the back of the net. Instead, the ball bounced Nketiah’s way, and the 26-year-old striker poked the ball in.
Nketiah would score again last night against Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League, as he came out of nowhere for a tap-in following Yeremy Pino’s cross. The once forgotten man is looking at home at Selhurst Park after struggling his first full season with the team.
History
Everton have lost only one of their last 21 Premier League meetings against Crystal Palace (W11, D9), which was a 3-1 loss in December 2021. Crystal Palace are winless in each of their last 10 Premier League visits to Everton (D4, L6) since a 3-2 win in September 2014. Since the start of last season, Everton have recorded more Premier League home draws than any other side (D11).
Crystal Palace have won seven Premier League away games in 2025, and they’re two wins away from matching their best run in 2019, when they won nine in a calendar year. If the Eagles win this weekend, they will set a new record for unbeaten league games in the English top-flight. Crystal Palace went 12 league games undefeated between May and October 1990.
Betting Tip
The Premier League 2025 odds predict a close fight between Everton and Crystal Palace, despite their sizeable gap in the English top-flight standings. Because they’re playing at home, Everton surprisingly have the slight edge at 2.42, whereas Crystal Palace aren’t far behind at 2.77, and a draw is at 3.06 in the 1X2 market.
The Toffees have had the Eagles’ number recently, but it won’t be the case this time around.
